BIGHORNS CAPTURE 3RD STRAIGHT TITLE

 Champions Again!!!

The Helena Bighorns are Cascade Cup Champions for the third straight season and captured their 5th Cup in the last 6 years.

After a close win in game two against the Seattle Totems, the Helena Bighorns wasted little time trying to capture their third consecutive NorPac league title on Saturday. Just two minutes into the game Gehrett Sargis put the Bighorns on the scoreboard, and despite the lone Seattle goal in the game him and his teammates never looked back.

With the scoreboard reading 7-1 and the final seconds ticking away, the sold out crowd of 1684 Helena faithful were on their feet as the celebration started inside Helena Ice Arena. The capacity crowd was deafening as the Bighorns poured over the boards and onto the ice before embracing each other and the Cascade Cup.

With smiles galore the Bighorns took turns raising the cup to the fans and to each other. For several Bighorns it was their second or third time raising the cup on home ice, but for the many newcomers to what has become a Helena tradition, the memory of that moment will stand the test of time.
